Francis Robicsek
Francis Robicsek (July 4, 1925 – April 3, 2020) was a Hungarian-American cardio-thoracic surgeon in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before moving to America, he was one of the surgeons to perform Hungary’s first heart valve replacement surgeries in 1954. He was the first surgeon to perform heart bypass surgeries in the state in 1956 and the first heart transplant in 1986.
