Interpolated in the pasticcio, Didone abbandonata, which was directed by P. Anfossi, arr. by Mme. Mara, and first performed on 14 February 1786 at the King's Theatre in London; Mortellari's opera of the same name, from which this aria was taken, was first performed in Florence on 16 September 1772.
