Arnold lives in a block of flats in London owned by Mr Bountiful, who lives on the ground floor. Their lives are separate and quiet, until an unsavoury young man claiming to be a poet starts visiting Mr Bountiful. Then their darker sides come to the fore, producing shocking and touching results.
