| Summary: | This research of using pandanus fiber as weft yams is a new invention in the textile industry. The tiber is extracted by using various processes and techniques such as soaking, boiling, bleaching, and dyeing. The pandanus tiber has potential in producing variety of interesting texture and the colours used are based in the design theme. However, the length of the fiber is short and the tiber is weak. As such, in this research, the pandanus fiber is used as weft yams and cotton yarns are used as warp yams. A range of home products with interesting textural effects and colors inspired from nature is created in this research. |
