Summary:This project presents a design for active suspension systems with state-feedback controller. Traditional springs and dampers are referred to as passive suspensions system while Semi-active suspensions include devices such as air springs and switch able shock absorber where creating various self-leveling solutions. An active suspensions use electronic monitoring of vehicle conditions, coupled with the means to impact vehicle suspension and behavior in real time to directly control the motion of the car. On the other hand, it has the capability to adjust itself continuously from the changing of road conditions by changing its character on an ongoing basis. Active suspension offers superior handling, road feel, responsiveness and safety by changing its character to respond from the varying road conditions. Firstly, the understanding on the passive suspension system will be focused. After that the understanding for the semi active suspension system also included. Finally the target of the project is to design the active suspension system with state-feedback controller. All the result from this controller of active suspension system will be analyzed based on the comfort ness of the passenger and also on the car handling performance.
