Summary:This thesis presents the prediction of rain rate attenuation model at 12 GHz in Melaka. The measurements data for this project is obtained from Malaysian Meteorological Department where the rain rate, R0.01 is 150 mm/hr. The resulting specific attenuation, attenuation prediction and effective length are calculated using formula in ITU-R Recommendation P.618-9. The attenuation prediction is about 78.964 dB over the effective length 9.748 km
