தொகுப்பு:The Government has decided to use English as the language of Science and Mathematics subjects at the primary school level to the matriculation in 2002. The implementation of the policy was initiated in 2003 in Year One and Year Four (primary school level), in Form 1, Form 4 and Form Lower 6 (secondary school level) and also in the matriculation centers. The objective behind the decision to use English as a medium of instruction is to improve the mastery of the language among educated people in this country. The mastery of English is seen as a matter of the utmost importance to ensure the development of Science and Mathematics knowledge among educated people because all the treasure of knowledge is said to be highly available in English.
