Ringkasan:The purpose of this research paper is to identify generic skills development among students in polytechnics through sports activities. Apart from that, research was carried out to identify whether there is any differences in generic skills taught through sports between Polytechnics in Malaysia. Research type is descriptive study surveyed on sample involving lecturers and student in six Polytechnics in Malaysia. Instrument used was questionnaires and data was analyzed using SPSS's programme. Results of the research showed that student does not only benefited physical vitality but student also acquired a few generic skills from sports activities such as communicative skills, problem solving skills, decision making, leadership skills, teamwork, interpersonal and management. Results obtained through one-way Anova test does not show any difference on generic skills taught through sports between Polytechnics in Malaysia. Research findings based on the research that has been carried out proved that getting involved in sports among technical stream students would be vital because it contributed to the acquisition of generic skills that will aid them once they involved in a real working situation
