Summary:Over the past decade, sustainable development has become an important aspect in the development of any nations. Importantly sustainability represents the link between society, government and built environment professionals. In relation to that, this study will be aimed on the role of the local governments and their practices in the sustainable development. Another intended study is to provide an in-depth and better understanding of the strength and weaknesses and other relevant factors that promote or hinder the knowledge transfer of sustainable development at local governments. The respondents are from the Malaysian local governments and their stakeholders. Interview and questionnaire are used to collect data from the respondents. This study is to contribute to the enrichment of knowledge transfer of sustainable development at local governments. Therefore, this research seeks to find out the knowledge transfer practices of sustainable development at Malaysian local governments.
