Description
Summary:Induction motor drives are used in many industrial and process applications that requires high performances. It has many advantages such as robustness, low cost, high efficiency, good self starting, and the simplicity of it's design. The motor speed should closely follow a specified reference regardless of any load disturbances, parameter variations and model uncertainties. However induction motor has disadvantages such as complex, nonlinear, and multivariable of mathematical model and not capable of providing variable speed operation. Developing and implementing adjustable speed controller which is field-oriented control of induction motor drive by using neural network controller in order to achieve high performance to solve these limitations. The motor is being controlled in a close loop with the field-oriented control blocks which generates inverter switching command to achieve the desired electromagnetic torque at the motor shaft. Simulation has been carried out by using MATLAB Simulink software. The simulation result shows the performance of the drive system is robust, stable and insensitive to operating condition variations. It is concluded that field-oriented control by using neural network are useful and able to improve the performance.
