தொகுப்பு:The majority of village houses in Malaysia generating the greywater from the kitchen, laundry, bathrooms and sinks and discharged directly into the river or the main drain without any treatment, these practices cause a critical impact on human and environment. Therefore, the present study aimed to design a natural filtration system consists of clamshell, steel slag, limestone and sand media for treatment of greywater in a pilot scale. The filtration system was designed with 24 L of capacity and fixed at the discharge point of greywater in village houses. The filtration system exhibited high efficiency for treatment of household greywater with 87.70 % of removal for BOD5, 74.0% for COD, 96.2 % for TSS and 98% for turbidity with pH 7.87. The filtrated greywater met the Malaysian standard limits required by EQA 1974, Regulations 2009, Standards A for disposal into upstream of the drain.
