| 总结: | This paper presents a methodic approach, suggestions and information to design 400 kV transmission line in Libya and investigate which type of towers, conductors
insulators suitable to use in that particular country. The work also calculate the affect of wind on L12 tower top geometrics and keep the probability of flashover very low. In this project, the weather and climate are considered to design overhead line. The purpose of this work is to determine the clearances necessary to withstand the 400 kV line at normal and abnormal weather conditions. In addition, it is also important to make sure that conductors have to maintain the clearances under lightning, switching and TOV (temporary over voltage). The work in this project have used Excel and Visio to analyze the results and plot them to determine the swing angle of movement of the insulator and conductor, and the minimum clearances produced under certain wind speed. Finally, the return period per year and the probability of conductor infringes the clearances per year are calculated. |
